About the studio
-
Daboiis House is an independent 2D animation studio based in Georgia, found at the corner of art and culture. We make commercials, promotional videos, animated shorts, and original series that look and sound like the communities we come from.
-
We work with brands, media companies, content creators, creatives, and local small businesses. Our work includes an animated short with Andscape and ESPN celebrating breaking's Olympic debut, along with commercials for local businesses across the region.
-
Read about us under our “About” section. We also make a point of hiring recent animation graduates. We're active in the local creative community through our ASIFA chapter, area chambers of commerce, and film coalitions.
-
No. We're rooted in Georgia, but we work remotely with clients anywhere. Every checkpoint and delivery happens digitally.
Services and pricing
-
We produce 2D animation for:
Commercials and ads for TV, streaming, and social media
Promotional and explainer videos
Animated shorts for festivals and branded campaigns
Original series development, from pilot to pitch
-
Every project is quoted individually. Price depends on length, visual style, number of characters/assets, turnaround time, and which production tier you choose. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll send a quote broken down by production phase, so you know exactly what you're paying for.
-
Our traditional tier is fully hand-animated by our team, frame by frame. Our AI-assisted tier is still led by our animators, who direct and finish every shot, but AI tools speed up parts of the pipeline. That lowers the per-minute cost and is a good fit for tighter budgets and timelines. We'll help you decide which tier suits your project.
-
Every traditional tiered project moves through six phases, and you see the work at each one:
Concept. A style frame showing your characters, background, and overall look.
Storyboard. A rough storyboard that maps out every shot.
Layout and animatic. A rough black-and-white version of the full video, timed to a temporary soundtrack.
Rough animation. Character animation sketched from start to finish.
Cleanup animation. All character animation finished and polished.
Post-production. Backgrounds, effects, text, final sound, and music come together into the finished video.
-
Yes. Each phase has a checkpoint date, when you'll see the work in progress and can request changes, and a delivery date, when you'll receive the finished assets for that phase. Nothing moves forward until you've seen it.
-
It depends on length, complexity, and production tier. We typically schedule 4 weeks for a 60-second commercial from kickoff to final delivery. We are flexible and usually able to shorten and or lengthen timelines based upon your needs. We'll set checkpoint and delivery dates together before work begins.
-
Dates can be adjusted through discussion with you. We work hard to hit every agreed deadline. If a delay is unavoidable on our end, we'll let you know as soon as possible.
Process and timeline
Revisions
-
You get one revision per phase, and one revision can include up to three changes. For example: "change the sky color, add clouds, and swap this character's hat." Send all three together before we start the revision, and they're covered.
-
Additional revision fees are agreed with you before any extra work begins. They apply when:
You request more than three changes in a phase
You request a second round of revisions in the same phase
You ask to change something you already approved in an earlier phase
You request a major change in direction, such as a new art style after significant work is complete
-
That's on us. Fixes needed to bring the work up to the original specifications are always free.
Payments and agreements
-
Yes. Every project starts with a signed Letter of Agreement that spells out the deliverables, phases, payments, and rights. We can't schedule or begin work until it's signed.
-
You pay phase by phase instead of all up front. Each phase's payment is due by its deadline and must be complete before we start that phase. This keeps your cash flow manageable and lets you see progress before each payment.
-
A late payment can push back the rest of the schedule while we rearrange production. A $50 late fee also applies for each day a payment is overdue. We'll always tell you in writing when a payment is due and send reminders if it's late.
-
If a project is canceled or postponed before the final phase is complete, 50% of the total fee is due within 30 days, on top of any payments already made. If all the work is complete, the full fee is due. The full terms are in your Letter of Agreement.
Ownership and credit
-
You do. Our standard projects are work-for-hire. Once the total fee is paid in full, you receive the copyright and intellectual property rights to the commissioned work, with no time limits and no restrictions on where you use it.
-
Unless instructed otherwise - Yes. We may share the work we create for you, including early sketches and the final piece, on our website, social media, and portfolio. We may also submit it to design publications and competitions.
-
We ask for a simple credit. On TV and streaming, credit Daboiis House. On social media, include "Animated video by Daboiis House (DaboiisHouse.com)" in the post's description or caption. In print, "Story development by Daboiis House".
Getting started
-
You don't need a finished script or a perfect plan. It helps to know:
What the video is for and where it will run
About how long you want it to be
Your budget range and target launch date
Any brand guidelines, logos, or reference videos you like
-
Yes. We can develop the concept and script with you, or work from one you already have.
-
Only if you want to. If you'd like us to include your music, logos, footage, or other materials, please make sure you have the rights to use them.
-
It is best to fill out the contact form at DaboiisHouse.com but you can also email us at info@daboiishouse.com. Tell us a little about your idea, and we'll follow up to talk through your goals, timeline, and budget.
